TINDER: Es clásico, simple, directa y… superficial.

Romance movies have always set an unrealistic tone and expectation for what love is and how someone should find it. With technology changing everyday life, dating apps have popped up and changed our way of dating. But is one app better than the others?

TINDER: Tinder is classic, simple, straightforward, and… shallow. Tinder is known for its simple functions of swiping right for yes and left for no and constant jokes about loving The Office. Tinder allows users to take full control of what they want their profile to say and do.

Pros: Simple to use and open for people of all identities and orientations. Cons: It’s cluttered, repetitive, men holding fish.

HINGE: It’s cute, sleek, and has content, but still, something is missing. While Hinge allows users to write prompts that encourage conversation, it’s very hit or miss with finding originality among profiles. Hinge differs by not using the same swiping function as Bumble and Tinder. Instead, users choose what they like on the person’s profile.

Pros: Simple to use, clean design, and the prompts encourage users to add variety to their profiles. Cons: Same fans of The Office, same men holding fish.

BUMBLE: Somehow, it’s the bottom of the barrel. Bumble uses the same swiping technique as Tinder; however, Bumble differs by having women make the first move. Bumble seems less accessible for people who identify as anything other than straight. However, one feature that Bumble has is the option to make friends using the same method as their dating function.

Pros: Simple to use, and it has the Bumble BFF option. Cons: There are fewer options for the LGBTQ+ community, no different than Tinder.

In the end, the apps all function similarly, and each serves the same purpose. However, Tinder and Hinge are the most popular are for a reason. Always remember to stay safe on these apps and have fun!
